Cerebral Palsy Treatment for Bogdan
Diana’s son was born in 2021 in Chernivtsi, Ukraine, arriving early at 37 weeks. After birth, he faced immediate health challenges, spending his first days under oxygen support and an extended stay in the hospital. Eventually diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, he received a disability status in April 2023, marking the beginning of a long journey for his family. His parents were heartbroken to discover that their son would have additional needs and face developmental delays, as he struggled with basic skills like speaking and walking.
From that moment, Diana and her husband devoted themselves to his care, following every doctor’s recommendation to give him the best possible start. However, in Ukraine, medical insurance does not cover the extensive treatment and therapies children with such conditions require. Brain MRI scans, massage courses, swimming, speech therapy, physical therapy, and especially specialized rehabilitation in Western Ukraine have placed a heavy financial burden on the family.
Thankfully, support from Ukraine Children’s Aid Fund has provided Diana’s son with access to the vital rehabilitation course he needs several times a year. This assistance also enables the family to obtain specialized equipment for home therapy, allowing him to continue building strength and skills between rehabilitation sessions. With UCAF’s support, Diana and her family have renewed hope that their son can continue to progress and meet fewer challenges as he grows. This partnership offers not only essential therapies but also the encouragement they need to look toward a brighter future.
